It's serious tobacco, but the Corona gives it considerably more finesse than you might expect from something carrying the Mad MoFo name.
That slender 43 ring gauge puts the San Andrés wrapper firmly in the driver's seat. Dark cocoa, cedar and earthy sweetness meet black pepper, leather and roasted coffee, while the Pennsylvania Double Ligero supplies depth and strength underneath. There's plenty of power, but in this format it feels concentrated rather than simply heavy. Smoke it slowly and the Corona reveals the interplay between the dark Mexican wrapper and the stronger tobaccos beneath it—the kind of balance that can get lost in an oversized cigar.
For the experienced Maduro smoker, this may be the Mad MoFo size to seek out first.
