The Ferio Tego Metropolitan Connecticut Explorer comes from a cigar line with roots reaching back to the Nat Sherman era. Metropolitan was long positioned as the approachable, everyday side of Nat Sherman’s premium cigar portfolio, and when Michael Herklots and Brendon Scott formed Ferio Tego, they preserved Metropolitan rather than allowing a familiar old name to disappear. The Connecticut remains true to that heritage: refined, traditional and intended to be smoked rather than saved for a special occasion.
At 6½" x 52, the Explorer is an especially comfortable format for the blend. Its Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper provides the finesse expected from the style, while the Nicaraguan tobacco underneath gives the cigar enough structure to hold an experienced smoker’s attention. The profile stays restrained, centered on cedar, toasted tobacco and a soft nuttiness, with a mild natural sweetness in the background. The 52 ring offers a nice middle ground—more tobacco depth than a slender format without allowing the filler to overwhelm the delicate Connecticut wrapper.
