The Espinosa Knuckle Sandwich Maduro Robusto came out of a genuine cigar collaboration between Espinosa Premium Cigars and celebrity chef Guy Fieri. Fieri was already an enthusiastic cigar smoker when he began working with Erik Espinosa and his team, spending roughly 18 months developing the project before Knuckle Sandwich debuted in 2022. Rather than simply putting Fieri's name on an existing cigar, Espinosa created original blends specifically for the project.
The Maduro combines a dark Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, all rolled at A.J. Fernandez's San Lotano factory in Nicaragua. At 5" x 52, the Robusto J gives the Sumatra wrapper a meaningful role while retaining plenty of Nicaraguan tobacco underneath. The profile is rich and earthy, with cocoa, measured pepper and an underlying natural sweetness. It's medium-to-full in character, with enough restraint to keep the tobacco balanced rather than simply powerful.
The Robusto is particularly well suited to this blend. Its compact proportions keep the darker Sumatra character concentrated while providing enough smoking time for the cigar to settle in. For smokers who enjoy a richer Maduro but still want balance and definition, the Knuckle Sandwich Maduro Robusto is worth adding to the rotation. Pick up a few—there's considerably more substance behind this cigar than the celebrity name on the band might suggest.
