TheMontecristo Espada Conquistador Ricasso is the compact powerhouse of the Conquistador collection. At5" x 54, it places the blend into a shorter, concentrated format that brings the character of its Nicaraguan tobaccos forward quickly and decisively.
Conquistador was developed byRafael Nodal and the Plasencia family as a richer evolution of the Espada concept. The blend is entirely Nicaraguan, combining aJalapa wrapper with anOmetepe binder and fillers fromCondega and Estelí. Each region contributes something different: the elegance and natural sweetness associated with Jalapa, the distinctive earthy character of Ometepe, and the strength and structure of the tobaccos grown farther north.
The Ricasso's5" x 54 dimensions give those tobaccos a particularly concentrated presentation. There is less runway than in the Guard or Quillon, so the cigar gets down to business early, delivering cedar, earth and roasted coffee backed by a lively measure of pepper and natural tobacco sweetness.
For the experienced smoker, theConquistador Ricasso is an appealing choice when time is limited but compromise isn't. Shorter than its Espada stablemates but by no means lesser, it delivers the depth and authority of Conquistador in a focused, beautifully proportioned format.
