The Espada by Montecristo is the first Nicaraguan
Puro in the famed Montecristo line-up and is unlike any cigar that has born the
Montecristo logo. Rich and uber complex, the Espada Guard has emerged from a
partnership with the legendary Plascencia family and the illustrious Grupo de
Maestros as a truly stunning smoke.
The Espada Guard is an expertly crafted 6” x 50
stick with a hearty core of Habano Jalapa Seco, Habano Jalapa Viso Ometepe and
Habano Condega Ligero filler tobaccos from 2008 that are placed in a 2009 Habana
Jalapa binder leaf. Another Habana Jalapa leaf from 2010 wraps it all to
complete a truly magnificent hour or so experience.
As the Espada Guard hits its stride, bold earth,
pepper and spice notes send the taste-buds into hyper-drive while splashes of
sweet cream and cedar keep the full-bodied endeavor balanced and refined. A
nutty nuance mixes with faint touches of citrus on the charge towards a wildly
satisfying finish.
Another incredible addition to the Montecristo
canon, the Espada Guard is enthralling cigar enthusiasts with its quality
construction, immense body and unbelievably delicious smoke. The Espada which
means “sword” in Spanish is the perfect name for this new breed of Montecristo
that is leading aficionados to cigar smoking glory.
