Plasencia 1865 Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Sixto I Hexagon (6" x 60)

Few cigars are as immediately recognizable in the hand as thePlasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Sixto I Hexagon. Its six-sided press is certainly striking, but the real story remains the tobacco. The Plasencia family has been cultivating leaf since1865, and today controls an extraordinary agricultural operation across Nicaragua and Central America. Alma Fuerte draws upon that depth of experience and inventory, while the Colorado Claro expression introduces a carefully aged wrapper that reveals a more nuanced side of the family's powerful Nicaraguan tobacco.

The6" x 60 Hexágono is built entirely from Nicaraguan leaf, including its distinctive10-year-aged Colorado Claro wrapper. Plasencia describes the profile around cocoa and almonds, progressing toward nutmeg and cedar, and the substantial 60-ring format gives those flavors room to broaden across a dense volume of smoke. The lighter Colorado Claro wrapper tempers the body compared with the original Alma Fuerte, but don't mistake refinement for timidity—there is still considerable Nicaraguan depth beneath the surface. The hexagonal press also gives the cigar an unusually comfortable feel despite its imposing dimensions.

The Sixto I is quintessential modern Plasencia: visually distinctive, technically ambitious and completely grounded in tobacco the family knows intimately because it grew the leaf itself. For the large-ring aficionado, it's not simply another 6 x 60. It's an opportunity to experience ten-year-aged wrapper tobacco and generations of agricultural expertise through one of Plasencia's signature formats.
