A pristine, golden-blondConnecticut-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador surrounds Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers cultivated on select García family estates. The result is mild to medium in strength, but there's genuine Nicaraguan structure beneath that delicate wrapper—a combination that gives Elegancia considerably more depth than the typical Connecticut cigar.
The classic7" x 50 Churchill may be one of the best formats for appreciating what the García family accomplished with this blend. Its relatively slender ring gauge gives the Ecuador Connecticut wrapper a prominent voice, while the additional length allows the richer Nicaraguan tobaccos underneath to emerge gradually. Cream and toasted almond establish the tone before giving way tocashew, coffee bean, dry cedar and a fine thread of white pepper, with silky spice providing just enough tension to keep the cigar interesting. Smoked slowly, the Churchill develops an elegant rhythm—the sweetness and cream of the wrapper continually playing against the earthier, more structured character of the Nicaraguan interior.
