Umbagog

Steve Saka left his indelible mark on the cigar industry with his time as head of Drew Estate cigars and has continued to raise the bar with the creation of his own cigar company, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. While his stunning Sobremesa and award-collecting Mi Querida lines have firmly entrenched Saka as a master of the leaf, the Umbagog series has endeared him to everyday cigar lovers across the land.

The tale of Umbagog cigars actually emerges from the story behind Saka’s award-winning Mi Querida line of cigars. Saka’s exacting eye for detail so deeply scrutinized the luscious Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers destined for Mi Querida cigars that much of the tobacco was deemed unworthy. Saka, however, decided the remaining leaves were just too good to discard and set out to create a more affordable smoke that would put the tantalizing wrapper leaf to good use. And thus Umbagog was born.

From start to finish, the Umbagog series has Steve Saka’s imprint all over it. From the name which was inspired by one of Saka’s favorite fishing spots in his home state of New Hampshire to the now-legendary wrapper leaf and a sharp focus on rich Nicaraguan tobaccos to fill out the blend, Saka’s Umbagog strips away all of the fancy bling that so often accompanies premium cigars these days and offers a straight-forward, affordable and deeply pleasing smoke ideal for the outdoor adventurer. The Umbagog isn’t just another everyday smoke, it is THE everyday smoke.
